Meet the Team

Chris was born in Caldwell Co. and has called Burke Co. home for as long as he can remember. Chris is completely cross-trained and can assist with everything from pool construction to our office accounting. You will often find him repairing pool pumps on the in-house work bench, testing water or servicing pools. Chris really enjoys onsite pool instruction. A huge animal lover, Chris loves to hang out with customer’s pets as well as his own feline fur babies Toby and Blu. A history buff, Chris has a Bachelors’ from UNCA. His weekends are spent playing disc golf, seeing new movies and playing trivia with friends.

David was born in Atlanta and has called Morganton home since he was 14. David is the king of water testing! His strength is definitely in the lab and he never hesitates to get a second opinion. David wants your water to be pristine. A graduate of ASU in Art, David’s creativity can be seen all over the store and especially in the front windows. When he isn’t doing an outdoor activity, David bangs it out on the drums having been inspired by Rush or The Grateful Dead. He loves pets and has a rescue cat named “Tally”.

Originally from Lenoir, Bill has made Burke Co. home for more than 35 years. He is the wizard of inground pool liners and all diagnostics. Very mechanically inclined, Bill enjoys working on hot tubs, cars or anything that provides a fun challenge. As president of his local Lions Club, Bill is a dedicated community servant. He has a wife, two grown children and one adorable grandson. When Bill is not hanging out with family, you can find him on the sofa watching football.

Amy is the owner of Schoenen Pool & Spa. She grew up in the business and only left Morganton during her college years. Amy is a worshiper of the outdoors and wishes she had more time to take in the glory that nature provides. Her husband Richard is also a native of Morganton and together they have two boys, Raleigh and Judge, and a dog named “Ladybug”. She is also passionate about homelessness and serves with The House of Refuge, a men’s homeless shelter. You will often find Amy taking in donations for the shelter of money, clothing, blankets, and food right at the front counter of Schoenen Pool. She knows that no matter your age, race, sex, species or background you deserve to be loved and cared for.

PH is the amazing Schoenen Pool & Spa house cat. She came to the team in 2016 and made her way into everyone’s heart. She is very friendly but dislikes the sound of loud trucks. She is cautiously curious about the dogs that come to visit the team at Schoenen Pool. She can often be found during working hours asleep in her favorite spots or drinking water directly from the faucet. She invites hugs and rub-downs!
